This is a Senior Backend Developer role on Bluesky's Trust & Safety Platform team, focused on building infrastructure for moderation, anti-spam, and abuse prevention at scale. You'll design and maintain high-volume data pipelines, create ETLs for automated abuse detection, scale internal safety tools, and develop monitoring solutions across the organization. The role requires 5+ years of Go experience, proven ability to build scalable backend systems handling 1M+ ops/sec, deep knowledge of databases (Postgres, MySQL, and ideally distributed systems like Cassandra or ClickHouse), and familiarity with lower-level systems concepts around OS, networks, and storage. Bluesky is fully remote but requires PST timezone overlap, with Seattle proximity being a plus and potential on-site interview components; the base salary range is $170–230K plus equity. Prior experience scaling infrastructure for large social platforms is especially valued, and this is a small, fast-moving team building atop Bluesky's decentralized AT Protocol.
