Fora, a platform empowering travel entrepreneurs to launch and scale advisory businesses, is hiring a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer to join their 200+ person team in NYC. The role reports to the VP of Engineering and involves building the travel advisor portal, external website, content systems, and integrations—owning epics end-to-end from design through delivery. You'll need 5+ years of backend web development experience with 3+ years in Python (Django/Flask), strong API and distributed systems design skills, and relational database ORM knowledge; AWS and Kubernetes experience are pluses. The company recently raised $60M in Series B/C funding and was named a LinkedIn Top Startup 2024 and Fast Company Most Innovative Company. This is a hybrid NYC role (Mon/Tue/Thu in-office in Tribeca) with compensation of $155K–$225K plus equity; notably, the company requires U.S. work authorization and cannot sponsor visas.
