Key responsibilities include architecting scalable data infrastructure (pipelines, data models, lakes/marts), implementing harmonization frameworks like OMOP CDM across heterogeneous sources, managing RWD vendor relationships, and partnering cross-functionally to define and productize RWD use cases for trial feasibility and portfolio decisions. You'll need a BSc or MSc in biomedical informatics, computational sciences, epidemiology, or related field plus 5+ years of direct industry experience with real-world data (EHR/EMR, claims, registries, linked biobanks). You'll work as a Software Engineer implementing production systems across the drug development lifecycle—building internal tools, user-facing products, and infrastructure that enables non-engineers to contribute safely. Key responsibilities include designing and shipping software that uses AI as a force multiplier, collaborating directly with clinical and operations teams (not through ticket queues), building composable APIs and structured systems, and creating guardrails that raise code quality across the organization. You should be comfortable moving fast, understanding the business problem deeply, and working in a blurred environment where engineers, PMs, and domain experts all write code. This is explicitly not a traditional SWE role or ML research role—it requires someone energized by shipping real products that directly impact getting medicines to patients faster.
