Galileo, a fintech software company powering major payment platforms, is hiring a Principal Engineer to lead the design and evolution of their multi-channel white-labeled frontend platforms serving both on-premises and hosted customers. You'll define frontend architecture standards, guide engineering teams across multiple locations, and ensure platforms are robust, secure, and maintainable while working closely with product, UX, backend architects, and compliance teams to translate business needs into technical solutions. This senior, hands-on role requires 10+ years of programming experience with advanced expertise in frontend platform design (mobile, web, SDKs, micro-frontends), large-scale distributed systems, and public cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), plus deep knowledge of React, Java, NodeJS, and modern web technologies including security best practices and mobile development. You'll be responsible for strategic architecture decisions, mentoring teams across the company, raising engineering quality standards, and serving as a technical advisor to leadership while also getting hands-on with software development. Spanish language skills are a plus, and the role requires willingness to work across distributed time zones. Remote work is available but not from Hawaii or Alaska due to insurance constraints.
