Invoca is hiring a Senior ML Engineer to own the productionization layer of their ML stack, including model serving, inference optimization, and fine-tuning infrastructure that powers their Context Engine and agentic AI workflows. You'll lead end-to-end MLOps initiatives, design and optimize SLM/LLM deployment across Triton Inference Server and Kubernetes-based GPU infrastructure, fine-tune transformer models using parameter-efficient methods, and collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Applied AI Engineers to ship production ML systems. Required experience includes 5+ years of ML Engineering with strong production focus, advanced Python and deep learning proficiency (PyTorch, HuggingFace), hands-on SLM/LLM fine-tuning and optimization, and demonstrated experience deploying and maintaining transformer-based NLP models in production. The role is remote-first but requires candidates to be within ~2 hours of specific US metros (LA, SF Bay, Denver, Austin, Chicago, NYC) or Toronto; no visa sponsorship available. Compensation is $152–$228k plus bonus and equity, with comprehensive benefits including 401(k) match, stock options, and flexible PTO. A standout requirement: you must have hands-on experience fine-tuning language models and optimizing inference at scale, with familiarity with Triton, Baseten, vLLM, or equivalent platforms.
