K2 is hiring a Senior Navigation & Guidance Engineer to lead spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control architecture for their high-power satellite platform. The role sits within the GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) team and spans algorithm development, flight software implementation, and V&V activities—with near-term focus on control infrastructure, autonomous orbit raise capabilities, and preparing their flagship "Mega" spacecraft for launch and on-orbit operations through 2026–2027. You'll need hands-on experience implementing attitude control or estimation algorithms on real spacecraft, proven track record with GNC sensor/actuator sizing and system design, and demonstrated competency in V&V of flight software via 6-DOF simulation and HITL testing; proficiency in Python, Julia, C/C++, or Matlab is required. K2 has raised $950M in total funding (including $500M in signed customer contracts) and is shipping hardware now, making this a rare opportunity to influence a novel high-power spacecraft architecture at a Series C company with near-term flight milestones. A deal-breaker is the expectation that all GNC engineers contribute code to the 6-DOF sim and own portions of flight software—this is a hands-on, IC-heavy role, not a pure architecture or management track.
