Modern Treasury, which builds financial infrastructure for global money movement, is hiring a Security Engineer to design and strengthen controls protecting their payment platform. The role spans application, product, and infrastructure security, with responsibilities including leading application security across the payment platform, designing DevSecOps tooling and automation, owning product security for new payment rails (including stablecoins and FBO accounts), and driving security architecture for APIs and authentication systems while partnering with engineering and compliance teams. You'll need 6+ years of security engineering experience with at least 3 years focused on application and product security, strong expertise in full-stack application security, authentication systems, infrastructure automation (AWS, Docker, CI/CD), and fraud detection in financial products, plus solid knowledge of payment systems and secure SDLC practices. The role is notably hands-on and automation-heavy, with a strong preference for 2+ years of fintech/payments experience and familiarity with payment security standards like PCI DSS, BSA/AML, and KYC/KYB.
