You'll own the complete GTM strategy and execution for this new category and audience—from positioning and messaging through demand generation, community building, and launch—with no handoffs once strategy is defined. Key responsibilities include developing product positioning and talk tracks, owning end-to-end GTM planning (audience, channels, campaigns, metrics), driving top-of-funnel acquisition and free-to-paid conversion, building developer community presence from scratch, designing the PLG motion, and creating sales enablement for a fundamentally different buyer than Pendo's traditional PM audience. You'll need 7+ years of marketing experience with at least 2-3 years owning GTM for technical or developer-facing products at the IC level, hands-on software engineering experience or deep familiarity with engineering workflows (PRs, deploys, codebases), strong narrative and content skills, and proven ability to build community and awareness in developer spaces like GitHub or Hacker News. AI proficiency is essential—Claude, ChatGPT, and similar tools should be your default approach, not an afterthought. This is a rare ground-floor opportunity to define a category and build a market for a novel product at Pendo (backed by Vista Equity), with roles in San Francisco or New York.
