This is an Embedded Software Engineer role on Rockwell Automation's Software Embedded engineering team, reporting to an Engineering Lead. You'll develop safety- and security-critical embedded software for Programmable Logic Controllers across diverse hardware and software environments, participate in agile teams using scaled agile frameworks, lead design of controller features, build reusable software systems for other developers, and mentor junior engineers. The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) and U.S. legal authorization to work, with a strong preference for 5+ years of software engineering experience, C++ expertise, real-time embedded development background, and familiarity with safety standards like IEC 61508/62443. Notable qualifications include experience with industrial protocols (CIP), device drivers, Python test automation, and modern Intel/ARM architectures. This is a hybrid role with mandatory office presence Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at a Rockwell location, and the company doesn't sponsor visa sponsorship for this position.
