As a founding mid-to-senior backend engineer, you'll design and deploy critical infrastructure powering both the core product and AI agents, tackling challenges like petabyte-scale data retrieval and orchestrating thousand-step planning systems with government-level security requirements. You need 5+ years of professional software engineering with demonstrated impact shipping complex backend systems, ideally in a 0-to-1 startup setting, plus deep proficiency in Python, distributed systems, and large-scale data processing (Spark, AWS/Azure/GCP). The company has achieved exceptional product-market fit with 10x ARR growth, counts FAANG and Big 4 enterprises as customers, and is backed by a Tier 1 VC fund with a team of AI and security leaders from Airbnb, Microsoft, and Bain. This is explicitly a backend-focused role requiring 5+ years (not for recent grads), with full-stack capability as a plus; TypeScript/React experience is secondary.
