To uphold our commitment to operating legally and ethically worldwide and to prevent payments to high-risk entities like known terrorists, corrupt actors, and international criminal organizations Uber has implemented a sophisticated and robust sanction screening process. This is a chance to work with cutting-edge compliance technology in a global, high-stakes environment.

What you will do

  1. Data Quality: Analyze incoming data, identify mis-escalations, and propose a plan for improvement.
  2. Reporting: Create reports related to Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), Watchlist, and Sanction Screening, including initial risk assessment and periodic reassessments.
  3. Process Optimization: Identify gaps in logic and propose process improvements to increase efficiency.
  4. System Integrity: Identify bugs and system issues, and flag them to the appropriate technical stakeholders.
  5. Solution Design: Define and build operational processes and solutions that support program initiatives and goals.
  6. Match Review: Review and escalate potential sanctions or watchlist matches found during the screening process.
  7. Internal Support: Act as a reliable Point of Contact for the Payments teams and local support teams via the JIRA portal.
  8. Training & Development: Provide training and shadowing sessions to BPO Level 1 agents, team members, and other relevant internal stakeholders.

What you will need

  1. Basic understanding of Payments Compliance (AML, CTF, Sanctions Screening, Know Your Customer, Transaction Monitoring).
  2. Strong logical and critical thinking and data analysis skills.
  3. Strong attention to detail and willingness to investigate issues thoroughly when standard methods and procedures are inconclusive.
  4. Ability to present data and findings in an actionable and meaningful way.
  5. Ability to manage stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  6. Written and spoken English at B2 or above, as most of the work will be done in English.
  7. Experience and fluency with G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Prior experience in Compliance and/or Sanction Screening is advantageous, but not a required.
  2. SQL practical tool experience is a nice touch, but not mandatory.
