Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules, including project milestones, deadlines, dependencies, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or delays, and implement solutions to keep deliverables on track.
- Manage production resources, including artists, software, hardware, and rendering requirements.
- Track project budgets, expenses, and financial considerations to support successful delivery.
- Organize and facilitate production meetings, client reviews, dailies sessions, and post-project discussions.
- Act as the primary communication point between production teams, creative leads, clients, and external vendors.
- Prepare production reports, status updates, meeting notes, and client-facing documentation.
- Manage client expectations, address concerns, and help maintain strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain efficient workflows, documentation standards, asset organization practices, and version control processes.
- Support the implementation of production procedures, best practices, and pipeline improvements.
- Troubleshoot production challenges and proactively develop solutions to minimize risks.
- Provide guidance, motivation, and operational support to VFX teams while encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and mentorship of new team members.
- Contribute to the improvement of production tools, technologies, and processes while staying informed about industry trends.
- Previous experience working in VFX production, with demonstrated success managing projects from concept to completion.
- Experience coordinating or managing teams within a visual effects, animation, film, or related creative production environment.
- Strong understanding of VFX pipelines, workflows, production methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with technical and creative stakeholders.
- Experience using production management tools such as ShotGrid, FTrack, or similar platforms.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, including conflict resolution and team motivation.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure while managing challenging production situations.
- Educational background in film, animation, visual effects, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience with VFX software such as Maya, Houdini, Nuke, or similar tools is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with VFX disciplines including modeling, animation, compositing, FX, lighting, and real-time workflows is a plus.
- Competitive salary range of approximately $70,000 – $95,000 CAD annually.
