The Custodial Worker Leader works under the supervision of a Custodial Worker Supervisor who issues instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines and assures that work assignments are carried out by the other members of the group and maintains an acceptable level of bacteriological environmental sanitation as well as visual, cleanliness throughout the hospital. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Serves as working leader of Custodial Workers in accomplishing trades and labor work. Passes on to other Custodial Workers the instructions received from Supervisor and initiates work. Assigns the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group. Trains, arranges or provides for training of team members in team building to accomplish tasks or projects. Reports to Supervisor periodically on work accomplishments, problems, progress in mastering tasks and work processes, and training needs. Using prescribed and standard cleaning procedures vacuums, dusts, mops floors, corridors, patient care areas, utility rooms, offices, employee lounges, bathrooms and other assigned areas daily. Thoroughly cleans rooms after patients have been discharged or isolation has been discontinued as directed.
