Job Description
The Managing Engineer – Fusion GRC Platform is responsible for leading the engineering strategy, implementation, delivery, and ongoing operation of the enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform. This role provides technical and people leadership for a team of engineers responsible for implementing and supporting Fusion GRC capabilities across Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Controls, Audit, Business Continuity, and Third-Party Risk functions.The ideal candidate combines deep Fusion GRC implementation experience, strong Java/Spring Boot engineering expertise, enterprise integration knowledge, and proven leadership capabilities to drive digital transformation initiatives while delivering secure, scalable, and business-aligned solutions.
The role partners closely with Product Management, Risk & Compliance stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, and implementation vendors to establish a modern, enterprise-wide GRC ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Fusion Platform Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end implementation, enhancement, and operational support of the Fusion GRC platform.
- Define and execute the long-term platform strategy, architecture roadmap, and modernization initiatives.
- Serve as the primary technology leader for Fusion capabilities across multiple business functions.
- Drive adoption of enterprise-wide risk, compliance, controls, assessments, and audit processes through the platform.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation, process simplification, and improved governance.
- Evaluate and implement new Fusion capabilities including AI, workflow automation, analytics, and reporting functionality.
- Establish platform governance, standards, security controls, and operational processes.
Fusion Implementation & Transformation
- Lead one or more large-scale enterprise Fusion GRC implementations from inception through deployment and stabilization.
- Define implementation strategy, solution architecture, configuration approach, and deployment roadmap.
- Drive requirements gathering, solution design workshops, data mapping, gap analysis, and platform configuration activities.
- Lead migration efforts from legacy GRC platforms, spreadsheets, and manual processes into Fusion.
- Partner with Fusion implementation consultants and vendor teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Establish implementation governance, quality standards, and release management processes.
- Oversee testing strategy including SIT, UAT, performance testing, and production readiness activities.
Engineering Leadership
- Build, lead, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams.
- Establish engineering standards, best practices, and development methodologies.
- Conduct hiring, performance management, coaching, and career development activities.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Drive agile delivery practices and outcome-based execution.
- Enable teams to deliver incremental business value through iterative development approaches.
Application Development & Architecture
- Provide technical leadership for enterprise application architecture supporting the Fusion ecosystem.
- Design scalable and maintainable solutions using modern software engineering practices.
- Define application, integration, and data architecture patterns for the GRC platform.
- Review and approve technical designs, solution architectures, and implementation approaches.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and compliance standards.
Spring Boot & Microservices Development
- Lead the design and development of enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Architect and oversee development of: REST APIs Microservices Integration services Event-driven solutions Workflow orchestration components Data ingestion and synchronization services
- Establish reusable frameworks and common integration patterns.
- Promote software engineering best practices including code quality, automated testing, and secure coding practices.
- Support cloud-native and containerized deployments leveraging enterprise cloud platforms.
Integration & Data Management
- Lead enterprise integration initiatives between Fusion and other business platforms.
- Design integration solutions for: SAP ServiceNow SailPoint HR systems Procurement platforms Identity Management solutions Enterprise Data Platforms Reporting and Analytics tools
- Define enterprise data governance, lineage, and quality management processes.
- Establish scalable integration frameworks leveraging APIs, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
DevOps & Operational Excellence
- Establish CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Drive observability, monitoring, alerting, and performance management capabilities.
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and platform reliability initiatives.
- Define and manage platform SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics.
- Ensure high availability, resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity standards are met.
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Incorporate secure-by-design principles across all platform capabilities.
- Partner with Cybersecurity and Compliance teams to manage risks and controls.
- Support internal and external audit activities and remediation efforts.
- Maintain compliance with applicable governance and regulatory frameworks.
Experience
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- 2+ years leading engineering teams and technology delivery organizations.
- 5+ years of enterprise application architecture and integration experience.
- Hands-on experience leading at least one full-scale Fusion GRC implementation.
- Proven experience owning implementation, configuration, integration, migration, deployment, and operational support of Fusion GRC solutions.
- Experience working directly with Fusion implementation partners, consultants, and vendor technical teams.
- Experience leading large-scale enterprise transformation and platform modernization initiatives.

- Experience building enterprise-grade, scalable applications.
Cloud & DevOps
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
- CI/CD implementation experience.
- Container platforms and Kubernetes knowledge.
- Infrastructure as Code concepts.
- Monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, or Application Insights.
Data & Integration
- Strong SQL and data modelling skills.
- Enterprise API architecture experience.
- ETL and data migration experience.
- Understanding of data governance and master data management principles.
