About the Role

You will own everything that happens when a customer lands on our website and decides whether to become one of ours. That includes the content and landing pages that make the case, the checkout experience that closes the sale, the paid media that brings people in the door, the lifecycle programs that keep them, and the organic and AI-search presence that gets us found in the first place.

You will report directly to the CEO. You’ll inherit a small team of internal and external resources on day one, and you'll work closely with a cross-functional team that has already made real progress standing up our D2C capability. Your job is to bring dedicated, expert ownership to that effort: turn a promising start into a fully-functioning D2C funnel, then run and optimize it.

You'll start hands-on-keyboard, building the funnel from scratch alongside internal and external resources, including a world-class, AI-native engineering team, and a robust AI toolkit. As the business scales, you'll build and lead a larger internal team to match.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full D2C funnel end-to-end: site content, landing pages, checkout, and conversion rate optimization

  • Plan, manage, and optimize paid media spend across channels, owning the budget and the ROI story behind it

  • Build and run lifecycle marketing programs (email, SMS, and beyond) to drive retention and LTV

  • Drive SEO and GEO (generative engine optimization) strategy so we're found through both traditional search and AI-driven discovery

  • Manage and develop the internal resource(s) and external agency partners you inherit, and build out the team as scale demands it

  • Use AI tools throughout your workflow to multiply output and move faster than a traditional team could

  • Partner with the cross-functional team already working on D2C to bring the function fully online, then own it going forward

  • Report directly to the CEO on funnel performance, budget, and growth strategy


What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • Proven D2C marketing leadership experience, with a track record of building or scaling a direct-to-consumer funnel

  • Deep, hands-on fluency with the Shopify and Klaviyo playbook

  • Experience across the full D2C stack: CRO, paid media, lifecycle, and SEO, even if you've specialized in one or two

  • Comfortable being both the strategist and the executor, especially in the early build phase

  • Fluent and enthusiastic user of AI tools to extend your own capacity

  • Data-driven and analytical, with a scrappy, get-it-done work style

  • Experience managing external agencies and internal team members

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience building a D2C function from near-zero, not just optimizing an existing one

  • Familiarity with hardware or consumer electronics D2C motions

  • Experience with generative engine optimization (GEO) specifically, not just traditional SEO

  • Prior experience reporting directly to a CEO or founder
