Expression of Interest - Senior Legal Counsel

Overview
Oracle is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Regional Legal Counsel to support its business operations across ASEAN. Based in Singapore, this role will act as a key legal advisor to senior leadership, providing high-quality, business-oriented legal guidance on a wide range of commercial, regulatory, and technology-related matters, including emerging issues in artificial intelligence (AI). 

This is a critical role requiring strong business acumen, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global environment. Independently handles complex legal matters and contributes to high-impact business initiatives. Partners closely with cross-functional teams to support Oracle’s strategic objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.

What You’ll Do

• Act as a trusted legal advisor to senior management, providing strategic, solutions-oriented counsel on business initiatives and risk management
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including technology, cloud services, licensing, and strategic partnerships
• Provide legal support on disputes and litigation matters, including advising on risk exposure, strategy, and managing external counsel
• Advise on regulatory and compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions within the ASEAN region
• Provide guidance on AI-related legal issues, including regulatory developments, data governance, intellectual property, and ethical considerations
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders, including sales, product, engineering, compliance, and risk teams to support business objectives
• Identify legal risks and provide practical mitigation strategies aligned with business priorities
• Support corporate governance and ensure alignment with Oracle’s global policies and standards
• Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments impacting Oracle’s business, particularly in technology and AI
• Contribute to the development and improvement of legal processes, templates, and scalable support models

 

Required Skills/Experience

• Minimum 7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with a combination of top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience in a multinational technology company, and focusing on ASEAN.
• Strong experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements
• Experience in advising on litigation and dispute resolution strategies
• Demonstrated experience advising senior stakeholders in a regional or global organization
• Familiarity with AI, and technology regulatory frameworks
• Strong business judgment and ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-border environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the technology, cloud, or software industry
• Knowledge of ASEAN regulatory environments
• Experience supporting AI-driven products or services
• Experience working in a global, matrixed organization
