Engines & Power Systems provides the propulsion, auxiliary power and electrical systems that keep aircraft flying. With engines across roughly 120 aircraft types and more than 47,000 APUs in service today, we support operators across commercial and defense markets — backed by an aftermarket network built for the long service life of every platform we power.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the safety reporting scheme and the occurrence reporting system, including initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence investigations;
- coordinating action on airworthiness occurrences and for initiating any necessary further investigation and follow-up activity
- facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment and management;
- monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks, as listed in the safety action plan,
- provide periodic reports on safety performance to the safety review board ensure the maintenance of safety management documentation.
- ensure that there is safety training available, and that it meets acceptable standards;
- provide advice on safety matters.
- establishing feedback from maintenance incidents/issues and feeding these back into the recurrent training programme;
- Liaise with customers and regulators on quality issues
- Manage and perform quality system audits.
- Perform supplier audits as assigned
- Support QA regional and global initiatives.
- Conduct in house training on QA specialized areas
- Spearhead line rejects meeting and conduct investigation with engineering to eliminate rejects as part of SMS
- Backup QA function as assigned in the absence of peers
- Manage organizational metrics and reports as assigned by the manager.
Key Experience & Capabilities:
- Must have SMS training recognized by EASA and ISO lead auditor course and have at least 1 year experience in SMS management system
- Must be competent in use of computers, and programs like Microsoft windows, explorer, words, excel, PowerPoint, access data base.
- At least 5 years working experience in an aviation industry, and candidates with Quality systems experience will be preferred; however, a strong engineering discipline will also be advantageous.
- Ability to communicate and manage external auditors.
- Able to communicate well with the workforce in terms of educating personnel with requirements.
- Must be a team player and able to exhibit leadership in driving for corrective actions and improvement actions.
- Candidates must have the drive and enthusiasm towards continuous improvement through use of six sigma tools and RCCA.
