Private Banking spans every facet of wealth management, including investments, wealth structuring, philanthropy, liquidity and credit management, and tax and estate planning. Our model is built on deep client relationships, an integrated team approach, and a platform with significant depth and breadth.
As Market Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing the private bank’s strategy and business development initiatives for the Taiwan market, hiring and developing client advisors, as well as driving solutions for clients in partnership with the broader Private Banking Solutions organization and other lines of business including Commercial & Investment Banking and Asset Management, across Asia and globally.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Asia CEO of the Private Bank, you will develop and execute the Taiwan market growth strategy, identifying internal and external prospecting channels, expanding the client base and deepening long-term relationships through strong personal networks and market connectivity.
Drive business development by uncovering new growth opportunities, creating targeted and creative events and marketing initiatives, and supporting bankers in converting prospects into clients.
Lead as a culture carrier and team player, motivating the team to win and actively supporting bankers in complex client and deal situations.
Partner closely with integrated team members, including investment specialists, wealth advisors, lending specialists, product solutions specialists, and institutional access teams —as well as other lines of business (e.g., Asset Management and the Commercial & Investment Bank) to propose, deliver, and execute client solutions, by fully leveraging JPMorganChase’s global platform.
Oversee private client relationships by understanding each client’s wealth objectives and investment requirements, providing strategic advice, facilitating access to specialists and managing investment portfolio needs.
Hire, develop and lead an integrated team of advisors, building a high-performance culture and ensuring Banker Team Leads and Bankers leverage interdisciplinary expertise for complex clients.
Demonstrate strong business and commercial acumen; monitor and motivate team performance against financial and strategic targets, including client relationships, net new assets, net new revenue, and account performance — while driving continued team growth.
Maintain a strong risk mindset and work closely with relevant teams to meet compliance, regulatory, risk management, operational, due diligence, client sponsorship and Know Your Client requirements.
Act as a Principally Responsible Person for the business and entity, accountable for responsibilities set out in the firm’s Statement of Responsibility and applicable MAS / HKMA regulations, codes, guidelines and legislation.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
University degree holder with 15+ years of relevant professional experience in a comparable senior leadership role.
Fluent in English and Mandarin, with the ability to engage effectively with Mandarin-speaking clients from Taiwan; additional regional language capabilities are advantageous.
- A proven track record of building, growing, and leading a Wealth Management business is desirable. Experience should include strong performance in investment sales and relationship management.
Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management and people management skills, with the ability to lead complex teams, drive change and embed disciplined management practices.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with a strong understanding of the needs and sensitivities of private clients and families.
Strong problem-solving and influencing skills, with the ability to address implementation challenges and operate effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Experience or strong understanding of investments, banking and trust concepts, including asset allocation, structured and managed portfolios, brokerage accounts, portfolio reviews, deposit and lending solutions, basic trust and estate products, and wealth planning opportunities.
Strong knowledge of local regulatory policies and guidelines, with the appropriate local regulatory qualifications and licences.
