Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Designer - Roads & Highways to join our team! In this role you will get to lead the design and production of both our municipal roadways and highway projects of our GTR Critical Infrastructure group.
What You'll Be Doing:
Use Bentley OpenRoads and/or Civil 3D CAD software to prepare detailed engineering design and drawings, including 3D roadway corridor modelling, based on preliminary sketches or general engineering information, following established standards and procedures.
Collaborate closely across other relevant disciplines and with other Designer/Drafters and Engineers to ensure coordinated and accurate designs.
Apply standard drafting and design principles to complete assignments efficiently and effectively.
Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
Make necessary changes, additions, and revisions to drawings, following a structured quality control process that includes checking, backchecking, correcting, and verifying.
Manage the assembly and delivery of completed drawing sets within the roads and highways discipline.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Education: Bachelor/Associate’s degree or equivalent technical certificate from an accredited designer/drafter program.
Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in roads and highways design and drafting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Bentley tools, including MicroStation, ProjectWise, and OpenRoads Designer. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D is an asset.
Standards Knowledge: Ability to interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards such as TAC, MTO/GTR Municipal CAD standards, and company policies and procedures, including the ability to set up workspace environments.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, quality, and adherence to established drafting conventions
