Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for accurately delivering prescribed courses of radiation therapy to cancer patients, ensuring clinical precision and patient comfort.Every day you will meticulously position patients, operate sophisticated radiation equipment, perform daily quality assurance checks, and carefully monitor patients throughout treatment, providing support and clear communication.To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and compassionate patient care, crucial for safe and effective cancer treatment.

  • Performs patient’s simulations under direction of physician, which includes patient alignment, portal marking and chart documentation
  • Supply data for and assist in fabrication and/or designs patient immobilization and treatment devices, such as vaculocks, bolus and aquaplast masks
  • Assists in dosimetry procedures, including obtaining patient parameters.
  • Provides patient and family adult education regarding simulation, treatment procedures and possible reactions (as directed by physician/nurse)
  • Observes patient for treatment reactions and reports reactions to physician/nurse
  • Assists in emergency procedures as necessary

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program in Radiation Therapy or an equivalent
  • Medical Radiographer: TX
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
