Accountabilities

In this role, you will conduct advanced technical investigations across complex software and hardware systems to support IP litigation efforts. Your work will directly contribute to infringement analysis, expert testimony preparation, and case strategy development.

    • Perform deep source code reviews across firmware, device drivers, and kernel-level C/C++ codebases
    • Analyze RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) and hardware schematics to correlate software behavior with processor/SoC architecture
    • Map technical findings to patent claim elements and develop infringement and non-infringement theories
    • Produce clear, litigation-grade technical documentation, reports, and declarations for legal and expert use
    • Collaborate with expert witnesses and attorneys to refine technical narratives and case strategies
    • Work securely within clean-room environments while maintaining strict confidentiality and procedural compliance
    • Translate highly complex engineering findings into structured, defensible legal and technical insights
    • Requirements

This role requires strong hands-on expertise in low-level software, hardware architecture, and prior experience in litigation or dispute-driven technical analysis. Candidates should be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in structured legal environments.

      • 3–4+ years of source code review experience in patent litigation or similar legal/forensic contexts
      • Proven experience as a primary code reviewer on at least two processor/CPU/SoC-related matters
      • Strong expertise in C/C++ for firmware, drivers, and kernel-level systems
      • Solid understanding of CPU microarchitecture and SoC components (memory, buses, peripherals)
      • Experience working with RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) and interpreting hardware schematics
      • Ability to connect hardware behavior with software execution patterns for technical mapping
      • Strong technical writing skills for producing precise, legally defensible documentation
      • US citizenship or US permanent residency required
      • Benefits

        • Competitive hourly compensation ($80–$100/hr depending on experience and scope)
        • Remote-first, US-based flexible work arrangement
        • Project-based engagement with high-impact, high-visibility IP litigation work
        • Exposure to complex, cutting-edge technology domains (processors, SoCs, embedded systems)
        • Collaboration with leading expert witnesses and top-tier legal teams
        • Performance-driven, merit-based engagement opportunities
        • Structured support for autonomy, professional development, and technical growth
        • Paid holidays and leave policies aligned with project structure
