Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled
Delivery Consultant specialising in Oracle Database Modernisation to join our team at
Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you'll work closely with customers to assess,
migrate, and modernise Oracle database workloads to AWS-native database services,
helping them reduce licensing costs, improve performance, and unlock cloud-native
capabilities.
Possessing a deep understanding of Oracle Database architectures and AWS
database services, you will be proficient in designing and executing complex
database migration and modernisation strategies. You'll assess existing Oracle
estates, recommend target architectures using services such as Amazon Aurora,
Amazon RDS, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Redshift, and lead end-to-end
migration delivery using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Schema
Conversion Tool (SCT).
As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide guidance on database
modernisation patterns, emerging cloud-native data technologies, and
innovative solutions. You will be responsible for leading the implementation
process, ensuring adherence to best practices, optimising performance, and
managing risks throughout the project.

- 7+ years of Oracle Database administration, development, or architecture experience (Oracle 12c/19c/21c)
- 7+ years of database architecture experience including schema design, normalization, performance tuning, and high-availability configurations (RAC, Data Guard)
- 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or Aurora PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL, extensions, partitioning)
- Experience with AWS DMS, AWS SCT, and heterogeneous database migration methodologies

Basic qualifications
- 5+ years of cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system experience- 7+ years of Oracle Database administration, development, or architecture experience (Oracle 12c/19c/21c)
- 7+ years of database architecture experience including schema design, normalization, performance tuning, and high-availability configurations (RAC, Data Guard)
- 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or Aurora PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL, extensions, partitioning)
- Experience with AWS DMS, AWS SCT, and heterogeneous database migration methodologies
Preferred qualifications
