Accountabilities:
- Own a caseload of litigated auto liability and bodily injury claims from initial assignment through final resolution.
- Develop and execute litigation strategies by reviewing complaints, amended filings, case developments, and claim exposure.
- Analyze liability, damages, coverage issues, and financial risk to create effective settlement approaches.
- Review pleadings, discovery materials, motions, and legal documentation to ensure claims strategies remain aligned with case developments.
- Collaborate with defense attorneys, claims counsel, and leadership teams on complex claim decisions and resolution plans.
- Build strong relationships with approved defense firms, legal partners, and industry vendors.
- Prepare for and participate in mediations, depositions, arbitrations, and trials when required.
- Apply knowledge of state-specific regulations, including Florida insurance requirements, PIP statutes, and bad faith standards.
- Maintain accurate claim documentation, reserves, communications, and activity records throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Handle both complex litigated files and non-litigated bodily injury claims with consistent attention to quality and efficiency.
- Mentor junior adjusters through file reviews, coaching, and guidance on complex claims handling practices.
- Stay current on legal developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends impacting auto claims.
- 8+ years of auto claims adjusting experience.
- 3+ years of experience handling auto injury claims involving litigation.
- Extensive experience managing Florida auto claims, including knowledge of Florida insurance code, PIP regulations, and bad faith frameworks.
- Additional experience handling claims in states such as Texas, Georgia, Colorado, or Arizona is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage high-exposure bodily injury, liability, PIP, and UM/UIM claims.
- Experience developing litigation strategies, negotiating settlements, and collaborating with legal partners.
- Strong understanding of coverage analysis, liability investigations, and claim evaluation.
- Ability to mentor junior adjusters through file reviews and complex claim coaching.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document case activity and communicate with stakeholders.
- Strong critical thinking, organization, and decision-making skills in complex claim environments.
- Experience working remotely in a digital-first insurance environment using tools such as Slack, claims platforms, and Excel.
- Active adjuster license in good standing, with willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
- Competitive salary range of $75K–$90K USD.
