Job Description:
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The HR Governance & Control Team is responsible for providing oversight and challenge to ensure that HR Canada and HR Europe, Asia Pacific (EAP) business partners effectively identify, assess, manage, and mitigate risks associated with their day-to-day operations, activities, products, and services. The team supports adherence to the organization's risk appetite and ensures alignment with enterprise governance standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
SUMMARY
- As a member of the HR Governance & Control 1B team, this role requires the expertise to assess and validate HR business adherence to enterprise governance standards, regulatory requirements, and related expectations.
- The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of business operations, risk management, and control frameworks. They will be highly detail-oriented, committed to delivering accurate work, and able to quickly learn and navigate complex processes.
- Key responsibilities include independently conducting testing of HR regulatory compliance controls, HR Canada General Ledger account reconciliations, and Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and established timelines.
- The role will also support additional Governance & Control activities and special assignments as required. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Prior experience in control testing and knowledge of HR business functions would be considered strong assets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
CUSTOMER
- Execute HR regulatory compliance testing in accordance with enterprise standards and established timelines.
- Perform research, analysis, and end-to-end testing activities to support assessments and provide subject matter expertise for assigned projects and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with HR business partners and enterprise governance stakeholders.
- Prepare clear, objective, and well-documented testing reports, including findings, conclusions, and management remediation plans, in accordance with enterprise requirements.
- Proactively identify issues, risks, or control gaps requiring further review or escalation and collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to drive resolution.
SHAREHOLDER
- Effectively prioritize and manage workload to deliver high-quality results within assigned deadlines.
- Support the analysis, assessment, and implementation of initiatives within the designated area of responsibility.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, standards, methodologies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while identifying opportunities to strengthen compliance controls, RCSA processes, and HR General Ledger reconciliation practices.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the business areas under review and document key insights relevant to each engagement.
- Stay informed of emerging industry trends, regulatory developments, and changes to internal policies and standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across business lines, corporate functions, and control groups to support alignment with enterprise and regulatory expectations.
- Provide insightful analysis and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations effectively to Compliance Testing management and business partners.
- Foster a strong risk and control culture by promoting effective governance practices aligned with the organization's risk appetite.

- Perform complex analysis, reporting, and problem-solving activities to support business and control objectives.
- Typically reports to a Manager.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of five years of related professional experience in governance, risk management, compliance, controls testing, audit, or a related field.
