Eurofins offers a portfolio of over 200,000 analytical methods to evaluate the safety, identity, composition, authenticity, origin, traceability and purity of biological substances and products, as well as providing innovative clinical diagnostic testing services, as one of the leading global emerging players in specialised clinical diagnostics testing. Eurofins Food and Water Testing New Zealand provides a range of class leading food, water, plant, soil, and fertilizer testing, as well as horticultural services and technical solutions, primarily to the New Zealand market. We operate laboratories in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Taupō, Hastings, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, and Queenstown. We specialise in the testing of Food, Plants, Soils, Fertilizers, Potable Water, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Surface Water, Rivers & Streams, Seawater, and Groundwater.Job DescriptionTo collect water and environmental samples from the Central Otago region, including, but not limited to, environmental monitoring sites, trade waste, reservoirs, water mains, wastewater treatment plants and customer sites in an approved manner. The role also includes laboratory-based testing as well as the preparation of samples to be sent to other Eurofins laboratories. The position will also include liaising with customers to coordinate their sampling requirements. The appointee will be expected to have the ability and skills necessary to work independently. Key roles are: -Plan and carry out the day's sampling programme to make best use of time and to travel the least distance possibleEnsure that any interaction with public or clients is courteous, professional, and prompt to provide information and answer basic queriesCollect samples ensuring no contamination occurs because of the sampling process and to carry out any on site measurements requiredAccurately record details relating to time, place, and on-site measurementsOperate in accordance with the company's Quality and Procedures manuals Plan and carry out analyses to meet and preferably exceed customer expectationsProcess samples within the allowable time & temperature holding time under the requirements of the NZ Drinking Water Standards, Resource Consents and other applicable regulationsConduct in-laboratory analysis as required In addition, other requirements of this position are:Comply with the company's Health and Safety proceduresInform the Laboratory Manager immediately of any problems with equipment or instrumentation or day to day workProactively identify opportunities to improve service deliveryUndertake additional tasks when requestedAdopt the company's Lean PrinciplesQualificationsA full clean New Zealand Drivers LicenceCertificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or...
