Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data sourcing, integration, transformation, data modeling, dashboard development, and performance optimization using Microsoft Power BI.

The role requires working with multiple data sources, collaborating with business stakeholders, and delivering scalable reporting solutions that provide actionable insights

Role and Key Responsibilities:

   

Data Sourcing & Integration

• Source data from multiple platforms including:
• Develop and maintain automated data extraction processes.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from various internal and external systems.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and quality across all reporting platforms.
• Collaborate with application owners and database administrators to establish secure and reliable data connections.

Data Transformation & Modeling

• Design and implement efficient ETL/ELT processes using Power Query, Dataflows, SQL, and other integration tools.
• Clean, transform, validate, and prepare raw data for reporting and analytics.
• Build optimized star schema and snowflake schema data models.
• Develop calculated columns, measures, and KPIs using DAX.
• Create reusable semantic models for enterprise reporting.
• Optimize data models for performance and scalability.

Dashboard & Report Development

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Create executive-level dashboards with drill-down, drill-through, bookmarks, and advanced visualizations.
• Develop operational, financial, sales, inventory, HR, procurement, and customer analytics reports.
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and workspace security.
• Ensure reports follow organizational branding and visualization best practices.
• Publish and manage reports within the Power BI Service.

Data Analysis & Business Intelligence

• Translate business requirements into analytical and reporting solutions.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to identify KPIs and reporting needs.
• Perform trend analysis, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Deliver actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement through analytics.

Performance Optimization

• Optimize DAX calculations and Power Query transformations.
• Improve dashboard performance by minimizing refresh times and optimizing datasets.
• Monitor scheduled refreshes and resolve refresh failures.
• Implement incremental refresh where applicable.
• Tune SQL queries for efficient data retrieval.

Governance & Security

• Implement data governance and reporting standards.
• Manage Power BI workspaces, datasets, gateways, and deployment pipelines.
• Configure role-based access and Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Ensure compliance with organizational security and data privacy policies.
• Maintain version control and documentation for BI assets.

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with business users, data engineers, database administrators, and software development teams.
• Gather business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
• Provide user training and documentation for dashboards and reports.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues and provide ongoing production support.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning.

Key skills & knowledge:

• 3–7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise applications and cloud platforms.
• Experience working with large datasets and enterprise reporting environments.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies is preferred.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
• Advanced knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
• Strong experience with Power Query (M Language)
• Excellent SQL programming skills
• Data modeling (Star Schema and Snowflake Schema)
• ETL/ELT concepts
• Dashboard design principles

Educational Qualification :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Microsoft Power BI Certification (PL-300) preferred.
• Certifications in Azure Data Engineering or Microsoft Fabric are an advantage.
