This vacancy is for a GS-1801-11, Section Chief Professional Qualifications Evaluation Branch located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, NMC PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION EVALUATION SECTION I in MARTINSBURG, West Virginia. You will serve as a Section Chief Professional Qualifications Evaluation Branch and be responsible for the evaluation of professional qualifications, for all endorsement types, within the credentialing program. Serves as a Section Chief and senior evaluation specialists and provides supervision and oversight of day-to day operations and section members. Typical work assignments include: Supervises, mentors, and conducts operational planning for a team promoting team building and resolving workplace conflicts Maintains a fair, equitable, and compliant work environment by actively supporting and implementing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies Serves as the hiring manager for subordinate positions Establishes clear performance metrics, monitors daily team output, and manages employee performance through coaching, recognition, or corrective action as necessary Maintains Mission Management Systems (MMS) work instructions, provides on-the-job training, and identifies process improvements to optimize merchant mariner credential processing Reasonable Accommodation (RA) Requests: If you believe you have a disability (i.e., physical or mental), covered by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended that would interfere with completing the USA Hire Competency Based Assessments, you will be granted the opportunity to request a RA in your online application.
