Accountabilities:

    • Oversee the day-to-day administration and operations of defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans, ensuring accurate execution and compliance with plan provisions.
    • Manage and support a team of three employees by setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and development opportunities.
    • Ensure accurate processing and reconciliation of employer contributions, funding activities, transition credits, and retirement plan transactions.
    • Coordinate retirement plan distributions, including QDRO processing, loans, lump-sum payments, annuities, and in-service withdrawals.
    • Serve as a key point of contact for retirement plan vendors, trustees, recordkeepers, actuaries, and internal stakeholders.
    • Manage relationships with external partners and oversee vendor performance through regular reviews, KPI tracking, and service evaluations.
    • Support annual plan audits, actuarial valuations, compliance testing, and required regulatory filings, including Form 5500 and Form 8955.
    • Interpret and communicate retirement plan policies, procedures, and applicable regulations to current employees, retirees, and terminated participants.
    • Provide retirement counseling and guidance to employees approaching retirement and eligible former employees.
    • Prepare and analyze retirement plan data, financial metrics, funding information, and cost analyses to support business decisions.
    • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes to ensure continued compliance and recommend process improvements when needed.
    • Partner with finance and reporting teams to support accurate measurement and reporting of plan assets and funding levels.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
      • Minimum of 7 years of experience in pension administration, retirement benefits, employee benefits, or a related discipline.
      • Proven supervisory or managerial experience leading teams and managing performance.
      • Strong knowledge of federal and state retirement benefits regulations, tax legislation, and compliance requirements.
      • Experience managing defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans.
      • Strong analytical skills with advanced attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
      • Experience working with HR information systems such as PeopleSoft, Workday, or similar platforms.
      • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to collaborate with employees, vendors, executives, and external partners.
      • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
      • Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
      • Master’s degree or equivalent advanced education is preferred.
      • Retirement benefits certifications, such as CEBS pension administration coursework or similar credentials, are a plus.
