Job Description

This requisition supports hiring across two teams within Personal Trust Account Closing. Qualified candidates may be considered for a range of similar roles and will be aligned to the opportunity that best matches their skills, experience, and overall fit.

This role has multiple levels, grade level 09 and 10, open to candidates with two to five years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience. Please note that the salary range provided corresponds to the lowest level of the position posted.

Join a collaborative operations team that supports the closing of Personal Trust accounts within Wealth, Corporate, Commercial, & Institutional Banking. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring account closures are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures. Depending on business needs and experience, you may support different phases of the account-closing process, from reviewing documentation and processing distributions to resolving outstanding account items and completing final closure activities.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy analytical work, problem solving, process execution, and collaborating with internal partners to drive work to completion.

What You'll Do

As a Personal Trust Closing Specialist, you will support various stages of the account closing lifecycle by:

- Reviewing account, trust, estate, and related documentation.

- Researching account activity and identifying items requiring additional review.

- Processing distributions and account transactions according to established procedures.

- Investigating discrepancies, exceptions, and outstanding account items.

- Reviewing dividends, interest payments, tax-related matters, and other pending activities.

- Coordinating with trust officers and internal business partners to gather information and resolve issues.

- Applying critical thinking to determine appropriate next steps and ensure work is completed accurately.

- Managing multiple cases and priorities simultaneously while meeting service expectations.

- Monitoring work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with operational requirements.

- Supporting the successful completion of account closures from initiation through final resolution.

Basic Qualifications
- Associate's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Two or more years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Bachelor's degree
- Basic understanding of regulatory and accounting principles which directly affect Wealth, Corporate, Commercial, & Institutional Banking business lines and clients
- Ability to quickly learn custody operational functions, systems, procedures, various products and/or services, for assigned area(s)
- Ability to multitask and meet established deadlines in a dynamic work environment
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Effective customer relations, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $22.50 - $30.00
