Reports To: Sr. Director, Performance Marketing

About the Role

Within Marketing at GEICO — a team in the middle of a significant transformation — affiliate and aggregator channels are a major and growing source of profitable customer acquisition. Getting this right is a real competitive advantage and a must-do.

The Director of Affiliate Marketing owns GEICO's affiliate and aggregator strategy end to end: partner economics, campaign execution, performance management, and new partner development. You'll lead within an internal paid search and affiliates team, working alongside the agency that runs GEICO's other paid channels — programmatic display and social — and you'll need to manage partner execution while also setting the strategic direction for the channel.

This role rewards someone who can move fluidly between strategy and execution — someone who can build the testing agenda and also run the campaign. If you want ownership of a channel that's core to how GEICO grows, this is that opportunity.

How We Work

The Marketing organization at GEICO is guided by a clear set of principles: we hire the best at every level and invest in developing them. We believe that strategy comes before action — if we don't know why we're doing something, we don't do it. We bring the same care and accountability to how we spend resources as we would if it were our own business. And when there are challenges, we face them directly and collectively. Leaders in this organization are expected to bring that same mindset to their teams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Partner Management

  • Lead GEICO's affiliate and aggregator marketing strategy across key partners to drive profitable customer acquisition and growth

  • Develop and optimize partner economics and commercial frameworks to improve conversion efficiency and cost per new business

  • Own day-to-day performance management of affiliate and aggregator partners, including forecasting, pacing, bidding, troubleshooting, and relationship management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new affiliate, aggregator, and strategic partner opportunities that scale volume while maintaining quality standards

Measurement & Optimization

  • Establish a testing and measurement agenda to assess incrementality, partner quality, traffic performance, and long-term value

  • Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual analyses of channel performance, historical trends, partner contribution, and competitive benchmarks

  • Drive continuous improvement in partner performance through optimization of placements, offers, landing experiences, and conversion pathways

Cross-Functional Partnership & Governance

  • Partner with Analytics, Finance, Product, Creative, and the broader Performance Marketing team to align affiliate strategy with company growth objectives

  • Ensure strong governance across affiliate marketing activities, including compliance, brand standards, tracking accuracy, and contractual accountability

  • Stay current on affiliate marketing trends, platform changes, and industry best practices to inform strategy and unlock growth opportunities

You May Be a Good Fit If You

  • Have owned an affiliate or aggregator channel at enterprise scale and can point to the partner economics and acquisition volume you drove

  • Have built or run an incrementality and measurement agenda that holds up to scrutiny from Finance and Analytics

  • Have worked inside a conversion-driven service business — financial services, insurance, SaaS, or banking — where acquisition cost and partner economics were core to the business model

  • Can manage agencies and partners with confidence, holding them to clear performance standards without needing constant escalation

  • Are energized by a marketing organization that's still integrating new functions, and bring clarity to ambiguity rather than waiting for it

  • Can take a complex campaign or testing concept and make it simple enough to teach — whether that's a quick answer to a stakeholder's question or a workshop that gets a wider team aligned

  • Can field an immediate tactical question and still keep an eye on the bigger picture, influencing stakeholders inside and outside GEICO along the way

  • Use AI tools like Claude or Copilot to speed up analysis and reporting, and see them as part of how you work, not a side experiment

Ideal Experience

  • Experience: 12+ years in affiliate marketing, with direct ownership of enterprise-level budgets

  • Network experience: Experience managing partnerships with affiliate networks such as MediaAlpha or QuinnStreet

  • Industry context: Background in a conversion-driven service business — financial services, insurance, SaaS, or banking — where the company's success depends on acquiring and retaining customers

  • Analytics tooling: Proficiency in Google Analytics

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage team members and agencies, holding both to a high performance bar

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and executive reporting

  • AI tooling: Comfort with AI tools such as Claude or Copilot to accelerate analysis and reporting

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required

Strong Candidates May Also Have

  • Experience managing large enterprise budgets beyond the affiliate channel

  • Agency-side experience in performance or affiliate marketing

  • Hands-on incrementality measurement experience

  • Experience in broader performance marketing roles or traffic acquisition

  • Direct relationships with publishers such as Insurify or NerdWallet
