This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Safety Enforcement Division, Located in Washington, District of Columbia. At the full performance level (GS-13) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Lead the development, drafting, and coordination of national enforcement and compliance policies, including directives, guidance documents, and regulatory materials supporting BSEE's civil penalties and enforcement programs. 2. Conduct comprehensive program and policy analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of civil penalty and enforcement initiatives, identify emerging issues, assess operational impacts, and recommend improvements to senior leadership. 3. Collect, analyze, and interpret performance and compliance data to support regulatory development, program evaluations, and management decision-making; prepare findings, recommendations, and data visualizations for leadership review 4. Serve on multidisciplinary teams and workgroups, contributing subject-matter expertise in enforcement policy, regulatory interpretation, and program operations to develop solutions to complex compliance challenges. 5. Provide oversight and coordination of stakeholder engagement activities, including participation in meetings, workgroups, and technical committees to communicate program policies and gather feedback for continuous improvement. 6. Prepare policy correspondence, reports, briefing materials, and decision documents that assess the implications of proposed regulations, legislation, and program initiatives on BSEE's enforcement programs. The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement has determined that the duties of this position is suitable for telework only during an emergency or natural disaster. Salary Information: Washington, DC Salary Range Information (Per Annum): *First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level. GS-13: $121,785.00 to $158,322.00 This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
