About the Role
As the Marketplace Abuse Lead, you will play a key role in protecting the integrity of our platform and creating a safe, trusted experience for everyone who uses it. You will lead the strategy to identify, prevent, and mitigate marketplace abuse by combining data-driven insights with operational excellence.
In this role, you'll partner closely with cross-functional teams across Operations, Product, Risk, Legal, Customer Support, and regional stakeholders to develop scalable solutions, improve detection capabilities, and respond to emerging abuse trends. You'll balance long-term strategic initiatives with fast-paced operational investigations, helping the business stay ahead of evolving risks while driving continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
Lead, coach, and develop the Marketplace Abuse team, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing environment.
Monitor marketplace abuse trends using data and analytics to identify emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
Design and implement scalable strategies, rules, and processes to detect, prevent, and mitigate abusive activity.
Partner with cross-functional teams across Operations, Product, Risk, Legal, Customer Support, and regional stakeholders to strengthen abuse prevention and improve the user experience.
Lead both strategic initiatives and time-sensitive investigations, delivering actionable recommendations and practical solutions.
Communicate insights, trends, and the impact of prevention initiatives to senior leadership through clear, data-driven reporting.
What You'll Need
Basic Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience solving complex analytical problems, preferably in technology, management consulting, or a related field.
Professional proficiency in English.
Strong analytical skills with experience using data to identify patterns, generate insights, and inform decision-making.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in SQL is REQUIRED; experience with Python or other analytical tools is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Python or other analytical tools is a plus.
Experience using AI-powered tools or techniques to improve processes and scale data analysis.
Experience leading or mentoring team members in a people management or team leadership capacity.
