Accountabilities:
- Lead complex data engineering initiatives across multiple business areas, source systems, data domains, and stakeholder groups.
- Define and implement scalable data engineering strategies aligned with business needs, platform constraints, transformation requirements, and downstream consumption goals.
- Design and improve data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and serving solutions across cloud warehouses, lakehouses, and analytical platforms.
- Develop structured pipeline strategies, curated data layers, and reusable workflows supporting reporting, dashboards, data science, AI solutions, and agentic use cases.
- Establish and promote engineering best practices including schema design, pipeline modularity, data validation, lineage awareness, error handling, scheduling discipline, and maintainable architectures.
- Improve data quality, strengthen source-system alignment, reduce pipeline fragility, and increase trust in governed datasets.
- Collaborate with Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, AI Engineers, Platform Engineers, and Architects to align data foundations with business and technology objectives.
- Support team planning, prioritization, workload management, and delivery excellence across multiple data engineering projects.
- Mentor and develop data engineering professionals through coaching, feedback, technical guidance, and performance support.
- Review technical deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, scalability, and business value.
- Contribute to hiring, onboarding, capability development, and the continuous maturity of data engineering practices.
- Ensure compliance with governance, privacy, security, and data quality standards across all engineering activities.
- 5+ years of experience in senior data engineering roles with strong expertise in scalable data solutions.
- Deep understanding of cloud-based data platforms, pipeline architecture, and modern data engineering practices.
- Strong experience with ETL and ELT concepts, schema evolution, orchestration, dependency management, and layered data architecture.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, and PySpark for data pipeline development.
- Experience designing and implementing medallion, lakehouse, warehouse, or other governed data architecture patterns.
- Strong knowledge of data quality management, transformation design, performance optimization, and troubleshooting complex data challenges.
- Experience working with cloud-native data engineering workflows and analytical environments.
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning data requirements, including metadata-rich datasets, retrieval-ready data organization, and governed data access.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven leadership abilities, including mentoring, coaching, prioritization, and supporting team development.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams while balancing delivery quality, business priorities, and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with confidence in client-facing and leadership discussions.
- Upper-intermediate English proficiency.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Foundry, APIM Gateway, App Insights, and Cosmos DB.
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery is considered an advantage.
