Lead Project Engineer
We have a current opening for a Lead Project Engineer. It is the responsibility of a project engineer to execute projects by planning, organizing and controlling all elements of the project from sales turnover to delivery. The project engineer has to effectively work in collaboration with all functional groups within UOP, vendors and customer representatives to ensure that all project requirements are met as laid out in the contract.
You will report directly to our Program Director and you’ll work out of our Houston, TX, Rosemont, IL, or Tulsa OK location on a Hybrid work schedule.
Hybrid Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite Monday – Friday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review project deliverables internally and support issuance to customer
- Verify the fulfillment of contract requirements
- Communicate and ensure the incorporation of customer specifications
- Ensure project deliverables are completed per project schedule
- Ensure communication of project changes to the project team
- Ensure distribution of vendor drawings
- Ensure that all structure, piping, equipment, valves, and instrumentation are procured based on schedule and specification.
- Ensure all equipment is reviewed, approved and distributed by or to the project team.
- Support communication with customers and project team throughout the projectlife cyclee
- Meet project schedule, budget and quality requirements as defined in performance metrics.
- Coordinate project activities while working closely with Project Manager, Disciplines Engineers, Procurement, QA/QC, and Customer.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum 5 years experience in a project or design engineering role focused on mechanical equipment or equipment systems.
- Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering or similar field.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering engineering projects on time and within budget
- Strong leadership and project management skills with expertise in monitoring project progress and risk mitigation
- Experience in using project management tools and methodologies to ensure quality standards and timely delivery
- Technical expertise in the relevant engineering discipline applicable to process technology projects
WE VALUE
- Familiarity and experience with QA/QC and site construction management.
- Experience in petroleum refining, petrochemical, combustion, and/or gas processing industries
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team based environment.
- Project Engineering experience with an EPC contractor
- Strong multi-tasking skills, analytical skills, project delivery & financial skills
- Flexibility in 10% domestic and international travel when required
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $134,000 - $167,000. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $154,000 - $192,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
