The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.Responsibilities:Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting codeConsult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systemsApply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debuggingServe as advisor or coach to new or lower level analystsIdentify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutionsResolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedentsHas the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy. Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications:4 -7 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industryIntermediate level experience in Applications Development roleConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationDemonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skillExperience of Agile development and scrumsStrong knowledge on Core Java, Spring(Core, BOOT etc),Expertise in Web API implementations (Web services, Restful services etc.) .Good understanding of Linux or Unix operating systems.Strong knowledge on build (Ant/Maven), continuous integration (Jenkins), code quality analysis (SonarQube) and unit and integration testing (JUnit)Exposure to SCM tool like  bitbucket .Candidates with working knowledge on Docker / Kubernetes / OpenShift / is a plus..Strong knowledge of distributed messaging platforms like (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ etc)Good understanding of No SQL database like Mongo Db will be a plus.Hands on coding experience on Core Java and SpringHands on coding experience in python will be a plus.Strong analysis and design skills including OO design patternsSolid understanding of SOA concepts, RESTful API designResponsible for designing, developing, testing, tuning and building a medium to large scale applications.Must be able to understand requirements & convert to technical design and codeKnowledge of source code control systems, unit test framework, build and deployment toolsEducation:Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experienceThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
