Our Purpose
At SentinelOne, we are driven by a clear purpose: to give the advantage to those who secure our future. As AI reshapes how organizations build, operate, and innovate, the responsibility to protect them becomes more critical than ever. When you join SentinelOne, your work helps protect global enterprises, critical infrastructure, and the technologies shaping tomorrow. If you are motivated by meaningful challenges and want your impact to be real, measurable, and global, you will find purpose here.
About Us
SentinelOne is a company at the intersection of AI and security, pioneering a new operating model for cybersecurity. Our AI-native platform unifies protection across endpoint, cloud, identity, data, and AI systems to deliver autonomous detection and response with clarity and speed. By combining real-time analytics, intelligent automation, and a unified data foundation, we reduce noise, simplify complexity, and empower security teams to focus on what truly matters.
Our teams are builders, problem-solvers, and innovators committed to shaping the future of security. If you are excited to solve hard problems alongside talented, mission-driven people, we invite you to help us build a safer future for humanity.
What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for people who are relentlessly curious and committed to continuous learning. AI is reshaping every function across our business, and we enable every team member, regardless of role or level, to build fluency in AI tools and concepts. Those who thrive here actively seek out new solutions, experiment thoughtfully, and apply what they learn to drive better, faster, smarter outcomes.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you should be someone who values simplicity over complexity, who has experience with distributed systems at scale, and who brings thoughtful skepticism to technical decisions. You should be the kind of engineer who enjoys tackling challenging technical problems—whether that's contributing to open source, exploring distributed systems concepts, or deepening your understanding of database internals.
This role is part of the Observo AI engineering organization and offers excellent opportunities for technical growth while contributing to our global engineering efforts. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in our Bengaluru office.
What Will You Do?
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance data processing pipelines capable of handling petabyte-scale telemetry data (logs, metrics, traces)
- Build and optimize ML-driven data routing, filtering, and transformation engines to reduce customer data volumes by 80%+ while preserving critical insights
- Develop real-time analytics and anomaly detection systems using advanced machine learning techniques and large language models
- Build cloud-native microservices and APIs that integrate seamlessly with major observability platforms (Splunk, Elastic, Datadog, New Relic)
- Implement robust systems involving transactional queues, databases, and data processing pipelines
- Participate in technical design discussions with a focus on practical, maintainable solutions
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and DevOps teams across global time zones to translate customer requirements into technical solutions
- Optimize system performance, cost efficiency, and reliability through continuous profiling, testing, and infrastructure improvements
- Contribute to engineering culture through code reviews, testing best practices, and knowledge sharing
- Stay current with emerging technologies in AI/ML, data engineering, and observability
What Skills and Knowledge Should You Bring?
Ideal Candidate will have:
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in distributed systems, data engineering, or backend infrastructure, with a track record of shipping production systems in high-growth environments
- Strong proficiency in Go, Rust, or Java, with solid system design and software architecture skills, and a bias toward simple, maintainable solutions
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), plus Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience building data pipelines with streaming frameworks like Apache Kafka, Spark, or Flink
- Working knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) database technologies
- Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and enterprise data formats/protocols (OpenTelemetry, StatsD, syslog, JSON, Parquet)
- Strong commitment to testing, code craftsmanship, and an interest in performance and scale optimization
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across cross-cultural, global teams (including US-based stakeholders)
- Willingness to mentor and learn from other engineers, paired with empathy for end users and fellow engineers
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred), with fluency in English for global collaboration
