Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be instrumental in performing specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals, providing critical insights into organ function and disease processes to guide patient care.Every day you will prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate advanced imaging equipment (e.g., gamma cameras, PET scanners), acquire high-quality images, and process data for physician interpretation. You will be expected to ensure patient safety and comfort, adhere to strict radiation safety protocols, and meticulously document all procedures and radioactive materials from receipt to disposal, contributing directly to accurate diagnosis and treatment.To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong scientific and technical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and an unwavering commitment to radiation safety and precise diagnostic imaging.
- Demonstrates ability to assess/interpret age-specific data.
- Encourages involvement of patient, family, significant other in decision making related to plan of care.
- Maintains current NMTCB and CRT licensure.
- Effectively coordinates patient care with physicians and and other disciplines involved.
- Demonstrates knowledge of radiation protection by use of ALARA standards.
- Demonstrates consistent use of radiation protection devices for both patient and hospital personnel.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate
- One year full time work experience or clinical internship in an acute care setting.
- Nuclear Medical Technologist: CA
- Basic Life Support - CPR
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology
