Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, business-minded Senior Contracts Manager to join our Legal team. This role handles high-volume contracting and negotiation across uniQure's R&D and Clinical programs as well as Commercial and general corporate functions – Facilities, IT, HR – using approved templates and playbooks, and escalating novel or higher-risk matters to the appropriate attorney.
The ideal candidate is organized, process-oriented, and comfortable managing a high volume of contracts across a broad range of business functions, with sound judgment on when to negotiate independently and when to escalate.

Salary Range: $168,000 - $218,000
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, relevant years of experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from where they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

Key result areas (major duties, accountabilities and responsibilities)
- Draft, review, negotiate, and process a high volume of contracts using approved templates and playbooks, including CDAs, consulting and vendor agreements, statements of work, and general corporate agreements across R&D, Clinical, Facilities, IT, HR, and Commercial.
- Negotiate contract terms directly with counterparties within approved parameters, identifying and escalating novel legal issues, material deviations from approved templates, or elevated risk to the appropriate attorney.
- Use the contract lifecycle management system (Agiloft/Qompass) and e-signature platforms to track contract status, milestones, renewal dates, and obligations, and to support reporting.
- Partner with Legal Operations to maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and standard terms; identify and help implement process improvements.
- Support contract compliance efforts, including use of approved templates and escalation of deviations.
- Coordinate with Finance, R&D, Clinical, HR, IT, Facilities, and other business stakeholders as needed on contract requirements and business terms.
- Train and support the business on contracting processes, policies, and self-service tools.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree required; J.D. or paralegal certification a plus but not required.
- 7–10 years of relevant contract management experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or another regulated industry.
- Strong working knowledge of standard commercial, R&D, and clinical contract types (CDAs, MSAs, consulting agreements, SOWs, vendor agreements, CTAs a plus).
- Experience with contract lifecycle management systems (e.g., Agiloft) and e-signature platforms strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills; able to manage a high-volume caseload with sound judgment on when to escalate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable partnering with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, process-driven, and collaborative.
- Familiarity with redlining software and document management tools.
- Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) a plus.
