About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Auto Parts Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you'll be the first point of contact for customers looking to find the right auto parts for their vehicles — whether they're walking in, calling, or reaching out for a quote. Pay: $14–$16/hour (based on experience), opportunity for bonuses!Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (NO WEEKENDS)
What You'll Do
- Greet customers at the counter and over the phone, and help them find the correct parts for their vehicle
- Look up parts using computer catalog systems and cross-reference part numbers
- Process sales transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and account/commercial orders
- Answer questions about part availability, pricing, and compatibility
- Build and maintain relationships with retail and commercial/wholesale customers
- Follow up on special orders and backorders, and keep customers updated on order status
- Pull, package, and prepare parts for pickup, delivery, or shipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales counter and parts area
- Assist with inventory counts, receiving stock, and restocking shelves as needed
- Handle returns, exchanges, and core charges according to company policy
- Collaborate with the outside sales and delivery team to ensure timely order fulfillment
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and reliable service on every interaction
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in auto parts sales, retail sales, or a similar counter/customer service role preferred (AutoZone, O'Reilly, NAPA, Advance Auto Parts experience is a plus)
- Working knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and terminology preferred
- Comfortable using computer systems for parts lookup, inventory, and point-of-sale transactions
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and cash drawer accuracy
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule
- Ability to lift/carry parts (up to approximately 50 lbs) as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
