Government Property Management Specialist I
Job Description
This position is responsible for maintaining Contractor Outcomes of an approved Government Property Management System. This includes the maintenance of records, physical inventory efforts, compliant property reporting in accordance with contractual requirements and FAR regulations. Management of Customer/Government-Owned Property from point of receipt until final disposition. Position includes support of contractor self-assessments and the audits of the Property Management System.
The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.

What You’ll Do:
- Maintain auditable records of Customer/Government-Owned Property. Ensure records include proper accountability, an audit trail of acquisition, receipt, identification, records, physical inventory, utilization, reports, sub-contractor control, maintenance, disposition and contract property closeout.
- Ensure that assets are received properly, are identified and records are established as appropriate.
- Create, update, and maintain records (active and retired) accurately throughout various life cycle events (cradle to grave) including maintaining supportable evidence via soft or hard copy of any life cycle transactions.
- Conduct physical inventories of property.
- Work with Contract Administrators and Program Managers to ensure appropriate use of Customer/Government Property.
- Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures, contractual requirements and FAR/DFARS regulations.
- Assist in preparing internal and external property reports as contractually required and maintain auditable backup data and files; e.g., Loss, Theft, Damage or Destruction of property (LTDD); Reports of Discrepancy (RODS); report applicable property in the Item Unique Identification (IUID) registry; Government Furnished Property (GFP) Module – PIEE, annual reporting, inventory reports, excess reports, etc.
- Demonstrate ability to use Government databases, repositories, and other systems.
- Identify property issues and determine practical solutions to be presented to management.
- Work under general supervision and provide work status to manager(s) on an established basis.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant discipline(s), industry practices, trends, and applications.
- Maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety objectives and policies.
- Share responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.
- Maintain an awareness of regulatory changes and their impact on contracts.
- Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- General knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards related to control of Customer/Government Property.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with internal customers and some external customer points of contact.
- Excellent planning, time management, and organization skills.
- Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Ability to develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent communications skills.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience in a Defense Contracting environment.
- Knowledge of UID Registry and DCMA Etools.
- Working knowledge of FAR 52.245-1, DFARS part 252.245-7XXX and other contract clauses impacting Government Property.
- Good working knowledge of in-plant managerial relationships and operations.
- National Property Management Association (NPMA) membership and certification as a Certified Professional Property Specialist (CPPS) is preferred.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $56401 - $95881

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
