DuPont is seeking Assistant Cell Leaders for our climate-controlled with air conditioning site in Valley View, OH site!
The Assistant Cell Leader is responsible for oversight of a manufacturing work cell (or cells) in the Operations Department at the Valley View site. In this capacity, the Assistant Cell Leader will direct the overall production process of the work cell and assists the Cell Leader and Operations Manager in directing personnel in the work cell(s). This position will be on a Monday thru Friday THIRD shift schedule, but could be assigned other schedules in order to meet business needs.
Products produced at the Valley View site are primarily compression molded, close tolerance machined composite parts supporting the Aerospace and Defense markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
Schedule adherence with the use of the Traksys MES and other systems.
Issuing materials from stock for processing using SAP
Issue and Manage In-Plant/Out-Plant Orders
Maintaining inventories accurately
Maintaining production equipment, machinery and supporting continuous improvement of all product and process documentation. This documentation includes traceability records (i.e. audit reports, quality assurance and maintenance documentation, etc.).
Must be able to acquire and maintain appropriate Quality Stamp(s).
Shall be able to train associates on tasks performed within the assigned work cell(s).
Ability and willingness to be flexible in work schedules
Willing to conduct safety audits and perform scrap investigations for his/her work cell(s).
Regular follow up of all safety investigations to help reduce audit findings and the need for corrective measures.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Be a safety champion of the site.
Demonstrated ability to train and lead others
Communicate issues promptly to line leadership
Accountability for all personnel in the cell(s) – expected to have personal contact daily with all personnel in the cell and evaluate fitness for duty.
Willing to work scheduled overtime and lead by example.
Assist team members in their respective work cells. This includes ensuring that all cell members have a high level of operational discipline and achieve efficient work production levels, while the group maintains DuPont safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
Ensure a respectful work environment and promote the individual growth of all cell associates (including soft-skill development).
Demonstrate conflict resolution capabilities and a willingness to seek win-win solutions.
Facilitate and support continuous improvement and process development opportunities.
When appropriate, effectively deliver information to other work cells, Manufacturing Technical Engineers (MTE’s), and site management personnel.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
3-years minimum Manufacturing experience
Solid communication skills (i.e. oral, written, and listening)
Effective verbal/interpersonal skills
Intermediate computer skills – Including Microsoft Office, Excel, Email, Internet, File Structures)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Technical or Vocational certificate of completion
Prior experience in Aerospace manufacturing
College/University Degree (AS/BS)
Previous Leadership Experience (Supervisor, Military)
