As an Azure ADF/API Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting Azure-based integration and data movement solutions that enable seamless digital transformation initiatives. 

This role combines Azure Data Factory development, API integration, Azure Integration Services, and DevOps automation. You will be responsible for developing reliable data integration pipelines, secure API solutions, and automated deployment processes while ensuring operational excellence and platform stability. 

Azure Data Factory (ADF) Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for enterprise data integration. 
  • Develop ETL/ELT solutions for data ingestion, transformation, validation, and migration requirements. 
  • Integrate data across: 
    • SQL Server
    • Azure SQL Database
    • Oracle Databases
    • REST APIs
    • Flat Files
    • Cloud-based Applications
  • Develop parameterized and reusable pipeline frameworks. 
  • Optimize pipeline performance, scalability, and operational efficiency. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline execution and performance issues. 

 

API Development & Azure API Management (APIM)

  • Develop and support RESTful APIs and integration services. 
  • Configure and maintain Azure API Management (APIM) components. 
  • Implement API policies including: 
    • Security
    • Throttling
    • Transformation
    • Routing
    • Monitoring
  • Consume and integrate external and internal APIs. 
  • Implement API versioning and lifecycle management best practices. 
  • Support API testing and troubleshooting activities. 

 

Azure Integration Services Development

  • Design and develop integrations using: 
    • Azure Logic Apps
    • Azure Functions
    • Azure Service Bus
    • Azure Event Grid
    • Azure Storage Services
  • Implement event-driven and messaging-based integration patterns. 
  • Develop workflows for enterprise application integrations. 
  • Ensure secure and scalable communication between systems. 

 

DevOps & Deployment Automation

  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. 
  • Automate deployment of: 
    • Azure Data Factory Assets
    • Azure API Management (APIM) Assets
    • Azure Functions
    • Logic Apps
    • Integration Components
  • Create and maintain release pipelines for Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments. 
  • Develop and manage deployment templates using: 
    • YAML Pipelines
  • Support source code management, branching strategies, and release governance. 
  • Participate in environment configuration and deployment validation activities. 

 

Production Support & Monitoring

  • Monitor and support production integration solutions and APIs. 
  • Analyze and resolve data integration failures, API issues, and deployment-related incidents. 
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. 
  • Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and exception handling mechanisms. 
  • Ensure adherence to operational SLAs and support processes. 

 

Quality, Security & Governance

  • Follow enterprise security standards and cloud governance practices. 
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design reviews. 
  • Ensure secure implementation of APIs and integration components. 
  • Maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational procedures. 
  • Adhere to coding standards, DevOps practices, and Azure best practices. 

 

Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, project managers, and support teams. 
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. 
  • Contribute to effort estimation, technical design discussions, and solution planning activities. 
  • Provide support during production releases and major deployment activities.

Preferred Skills, Experience & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–10+ years of overall IT experience with strong expertise in Azure integration technologies.
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and API Integrations
  • Hands-on experience with all or some of the these - Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, REST APIs, SQL Server
  • Experience developing and supporting enterprise integration solutions.
  • Understanding of:  API Integration Patterns, ETL/ELT Development, CI/CD Practices, Cloud Security Concepts, Azure Architecture Fundamentals
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps delivery environments.
  • Experience with Azure IaC (ARM Templates, Bicep), Azure Synapse/Databricks, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, and Messaging Solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Git, branching strategies, and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience in Financial Services or Insurance domains.
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred certifications: Azure Developer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AZ-900, and Agile/Scrum certifications.
