Accountabilities:

    As a Staff Software Development Engineer, you will act as a technical leader responsible for shaping platform capabilities, driving engineering excellence, and ensuring reliable experiences for external users and partners.

    • Define and guide API architecture decisions, including what capabilities are exposed externally, internal boundaries, reliability expectations, and long-term platform strategy.
    • Lead technical discovery for new features by collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
    • Design, build, and maintain backend solutions using modern cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and AI-enabled technologies.
    • Own platform reliability by participating in on-call rotations, responding to incidents, leading post-incident reviews, and implementing improvements based on learnings.
    • Provide expert-level code reviews, technical guidance, and mentorship to engineering team members.
    • Establish strong testing practices across multiple layers, from unit testing to production validation.
    • Develop monitoring strategies for APIs, platform performance, and AI/model-related capabilities.
    • Drive improvements in developer experience by ensuring external consumers can easily integrate with and build on the platform.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance technical feasibility, business needs, security requirements, and customer impact.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in designing scalable platforms, building APIs, and leading complex technical initiatives. You should combine deep engineering expertise with strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a high-growth environment.

      • 7+ years of professional software development experience, including significant experience designing or operating public-facing or partner-facing APIs.
      • Strong backend engineering expertise with technologies such as Golang, Python, and Kotlin.
      • Experience working with API gateway or API management solutions in production environments, such as Azure API Management, Kong, AWS API Gateway, or equivalent platforms.
      • Proven ability to design scalable cloud-based systems and understand modern infrastructure concepts, including Kubernetes and cloud services.
      • Strong understanding of software testing strategies, monitoring, reliability engineering, and production operations.
      • Experience defining technical solutions, evaluating trade-offs, and making architecture decisions.
      • Excellent analytical, research, problem-solving, and communication skills.
      • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
      • Experience working with healthcare technology, machine learning, data science, or natural language processing is a plus.
      • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and mentor other engineers.
