What is the opportunity?

As the Regional Platform Change Lead, Europe, you will play a pivotal role in driving cross-pillar transformation and alignment across Capital Markets (CM) Operations in Europe.

This role is critical to supporting RBC’s growth strategy in the region, enabling strategic initiatives that span multiple business lines.

You will focus on delivering high-impact projects, enhancing process efficiency, and fostering innovation through AI adoption and automation.

You will lead a small team of BAs for specific projects and will liaise closely with Project Managers across multiple initiatives.

This is a permanent, full-time role based in 100 Bishopsgate, London, with hybrid flexibility (4 days in-office).

What will you do?

Reporting to the Head of Operations, Capital Markets ('CM') Europe, you will:

  • Coordinate and provide oversight on European cross-pillar transformation initiatives spanning regulatory, operational, and strategic priorities, including but not limited to:

    • Europa (EU Credit Institution establishment)

    • GBP Clearing

    • UK/EU T+1 settlement reform

    • US Treasury Central Clearing

    • Intraday Liquidity reporting

    • Global Equities Transformation initiatives

    • German regulatory reporting compliance

  • Regional representation on global programmes including, by not limited to:

    • Front-to-back automation

    • FX modernisation

    • Margin & Collateral transformation

  • Drive enterprise-wide collaboration between CM, Wealth Management (WM), and Global Asset Management (GAM)

  • Coordinate New Business Committee (NBC) testing and condition tracking

  • Target manual/non-STP processes to reduce operational risk and improve automation rates across CM Operations

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis to resolve pain points and institutionalise best practices via process flows

  • Accelerate AI adoption by partnering with SMEs and AI Champions to identify and implement automation opportunities

  • Build bench strength in system/process knowledge to enable flexible resource deployment across projects, improving time-to-market

  • Stakeholder management: Collaborate with CM Operations EMEA leaders, Risk, Compliance, and global teams to align on priorities and governance

  • Governance and documentation: Maintain project mandates, operating procedures, and ensure operational readiness.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Deep understanding of Capital Markets Operations (e.g., trade lifecycle, asset classes, regulatory landscape)

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional transformation projects in a financial services environment

  • Ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders across COO pillars, Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholder teams

  • Expertise in process optimisation, automation, and AI/technology integration

  • Financial acumen and budget management skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with EU/UK regulatory initiatives (e.g., T+1, CASS)

  • Certification in Change Management (e.g., Agile) or Project Management (PMP)

  • Familiarity with RBC’s systems.
