Location: Micron Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd (1 North Coast Drive, Singapore 757432)
Department: Process and Equipment Engineering
Project Title: Automated Disposition of Inline Quality Deviation Event
Project Description:
- In this project, the intern will support the development and enhancement of an automated disposition system that detects, classifies, and responds to inline lot quality deviation events in the wafer fabrication line. The system aims to reduce manual engineering workload, shorten response time, and improve overall lot quality decision consistency across tech nodes.
- The student will have the opportunity to learn and apply real-world semiconductor manufacturing concepts, including statistical process control (SPC), inline quality monitoring, data-driven decision rules, and automation workflows. They will also gain exposure to large-scale fab data, engineering judgement logic, and how automation is deployed in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- The intern will also have the opportunity to participate in cross-functional discussions with process engineers, equipment engineers, data scientists, and operations teams. This includes joining technical reviews, presenting analysis findings, and contributing ideas to improve the disposition logic and user experience.
Project Scope:
- Analyze historical inline quality deviation events and disposition outcomes
- Identify patterns and define rules for automated classification and disposition
- Develop or enhance scripts and dashboards to support automated decision flow
- Validate the automated disposition against engineering judgement and refine accordingly
- Document the system logic, assumptions, and recommended next steps for sustained deployment
Deliverable: Improved fab throughput and quality through automation enablement
Skillsets Required: General problem solving, data analytics, programming languages (R, Python).
Course of Interest: Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Analytics related
Duration Period: Minimum 5 months (preferably September 2026 to February 2027)
