How you create impact
The Customs Specialist for In-Bonds is responsible for managing shipments that enter the country but are not immediately cleared through customs. This role ensures that goods are properly documented, securely stored or transported through bonded facilities, and reported accurately to customs authorities. The specialist plays a key role in maintaining compliance, optimizing inventory flow, and supporting cost-effective import strategies.
- Ensure accurate documentation for all in-bond shipments, including origin, destination, and justification for in-bond status.
- Monitor and report the movement of in-bond goods to customs authorities at each stage of the process.
- Coordinate with bonded warehouses and authorized facilities to ensure secure handling and compliance.
- Follow SOPs, toolkits, and company guidelines related to in-bond operations.
- Participate in training sessions and support migration of new processes.
- Meet performance KPIs including productivity, quality, and SLA targets.
- Provide customer service and maintain clear communication with internal teams.
- Identify potential issues in the in-bond process and propose proactive solutions.
- Uphold company policies and take initiative in identifying and resolving potential process inefficiencies.
- Support additional strategic tasks and projects as assigned by your supervisor.
What we would like you to bring
- High school diploma required.
- Professional Studies in Customs or related field (preferred).
- Experience in a related field such Logistics, Freight Forwarding and/or customs.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Intermediate English proficiency.
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective and professional communication.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities.
- Persuasive and collaborative mindset.
This position is subject to a rotating schedule and shift, which may vary between day, night, or mixed shifts. Your days off will also be assigned by the company, and both your schedule and days off may be modified with a minimum notice of five (5) business days.
