DEFINITION:
Under administrative direction, performs routine and repetitive clerical, bookkeeping and data entry. Work is checked periodically during performance of the work and upon completion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide phone coverage for the Bail division.
- Review and balance monthly reports for assigned companies.
- Data entry for assigned companies.
- Review and maintain court forfeiture proceedings.
- Generate report letters
- Appointments and cancellations for assigned companies.
- Conduct Court Clerk audits
- Review unreported bond letters per Court Clerk comparison
- Assist with new license applications.
- Assist with license renewals.
- Prepare Legal referrals.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of telephone etiquette and procedures
- Effective time organization and management.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other, to understand the basic functions of other divisions within the department, and to deal tactfully with the licensees and public.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and proven ability to multitask.
- Ability to deal with difficult people and maintain a professional attitude.
- Working knowledge of computers and computer software, specifically Microsoft Windows products, including but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Work, Adobe, and Outlook.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree in any field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting each year of related experience for each year of education. Preference will be given to individuals with Court Clerk experience and to those with a degree in criminal justice.
NOTE:
Upon hire, any applicant who is licensed as a producer/agent, adjuster or is otherwise affiliated with any entity that is regulated by the department must surrender their license and terminate any financial or non-financial affiliation with the entity that is regulated by the department. The selected applicant must pass a background check. Individual may be required to pursue NAIC designations as job duties require.
TELEWORK:
This position may be eligible for telework each week under OID’s Telework Program after initial training.
