Job Description
As a Global Industry Technical Consultant – Data Centers, you are responsible for defining, developing, and scaling Rockwell Automation's technical stack and solution architecture for the global data center market.
This role serves as the technical owner of the data center solution stack, working across Business Units to align current offerings and influence the future roadmap. You ensure that Rockwell delivers a repeatable, scalable, and differentiated solution aligned to evolving customer and industry requirements.
You will also act as a global enablement leader, equipping domain experts, sellers, and partners to effectively articulate the value of the Rockwell data center stack and drive adoption in priority pursuits.
You will report to the Director, Global Lighthouse Industry Solutions.
Your Responsibilities
Technical Stack Ownership & Development
Define, develop, and maintain the end-to-end Rockwell technical stack for data center solutions (hardware, software, and architecture)
Translate market, customer, and project insights into standardized solutions
Ensure the solution stack is repeatable, scalable, and aligned with Lighthouse solution set principles
Business Unit Alignment & Roadmap Influence
Partner with Business Units to align current offerings to a cohesive data center solution stack
Influence and shape future product and technology roadmaps based on market needs and gaps
Provide structured product requirements and feedback loops from global pursuits and customer engagements
Global Enablement & Messaging
Enable global domain experts, sellers, and partners to confidently position and articulate the Rockwell data center solution
Develop and drive adoption of technical and commercial messaging that clearly communicates value and differentiation
Lead global training, workshops, and knowledge transfer to support consistent execution across regions
Pre-Sales & Strategic Pursuit Support
Support high-value global pursuits by providing technical leadership and solution definition
Guide teams in translating customer requirements into aligned, standards-based architectures
Ensure consistency between what is sold and what is delivered through alignment to defined solution sets
Standards, Governance & Adoption
Establish and maintain global standards, reference architectures, and design guidelines for data center solutions
Drive adoption of defined architectures across regions and projects
Facilitate ongoing feedback loops to continuously improve the solution stack
Internal Coordination & Thought Leadership
Act as the central technical point of contact across Sales, Business Units, Digital, and Engineering teams
Lead internal forums to align on solution evolution, share insights, and scale best practices
Represent Rockwell in industry events, technical forums, and customer engagements focused on data centers
The Essentials - You Will Have:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visa, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of the time to customers.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
Typically requires 8+ years in solution architecture, technical consulting, or product/solution management
Strong experience in data center infrastructure, electrical systems, or industrial automation within mission-critical environments
Demonstrated ability to define solution architectures or technical stacks, not just support them
Experience influencing product strategy or roadmap development
Expertise in areas such as:
Power distribution (LV/MV), control systems, or modular data center infrastructure
IIoT, cybersecurity, and OT/IT convergence
Cloud and edge architectures
Strong ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear customer value propositions
Experience enabling global teams through training, documentation, and structured messaging
Collaborative mindset with a focus on standardization, scalability, and execution excellence

This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation.
For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $155,760.00 - 233,640.00, with an annual target bonus of 8% of base salary. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
