Accountabilities:

    The Scientific Business Analyst is responsible for understanding customer objectives, translating scientific and operational needs into functional solutions, and supporting successful implementation of laboratory informatics platforms.

    • Analyze customer requests and translate business needs into clear functional requirements while identifying underlying challenges and opportunities.
    • Document current and future business processes, workflows, and operational requirements using structured methodologies.
    • Define customer success criteria and ensure solutions are aligned with measurable business outcomes.
    • Maintain strong knowledge of laboratory informatics solutions, including LIMS, ELN, and scientific data management platforms.
    • Configure workflows, experiments, and system processes to meet customer requirements and support operational goals.
    • Create workflow concepts, mockups, and documentation to communicate proposed solutions effectively.
    • Deliver end-user training and guidance to ensure customers can maximize the value of implemented solutions.
    • Perform root cause analysis, investigate business challenges, and facilitate effective solution delivery.
    • Collaborate with product teams to capture customer feedback and translate needs into potential product improvements.
    • Serve as a trusted technical partner by helping customers optimize their use of the platform and available services.
    • Manage implementation documentation, deployment materials, and business analysis deliverables with accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Support testing activities to validate new features and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
    • Work independently while maintaining high standards of quality, organization, and customer satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with global teams to improve processes, delivery methods, and customer engagement practices.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is a scientifically minded business analyst with experience in laboratory environments and a strong ability to connect scientific workflows with technology solutions.

      • 5+ years of experience working within life sciences, preferably in a laboratory environment involving the introduction of new technology solutions.
      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a life science discipline such as molecular biology, chemistry, or a related field.
      • Previous experience working with LIMS, ELN, SDMS, or similar laboratory informatics systems.
      • Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, scientific processes, and digital transformation initiatives.
      • Experience managing external stakeholders and building effective relationships across technical and business teams.
      • Ability to lead customer workshops, gather requirements, and document business outcomes.
      • Strong analytical, problem-solving, interviewing, and data analysis skills.
      • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation abilities.
      • Experience creating process documentation and translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
      • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and CRM platforms.
      • Lean Six Sigma qualification or experience is preferred.
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
      • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with strong self-management and accountability.
      • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
