SENIOR LITIGATION ATTORNEY – INSOLVENCY – BERMUDA – 10% TAX – HR603

About this opportunity

Our client is one of Bermuda’s leading law firms. It is a local firm with a global presence, and has a broad ranging practice with an emphasis on civil and commercial litigation, banking and finance, general corporate, trusts, insolvency and restructuring. The firm also offers advice and services to international individual and commercial private clients.

The practice is looking for a senior litigation attorney (e.g. a Counsel or at Junior Partner level) with strong Court advocacy skills and significant relevant experience to lead their Insolvency team.

The successful candidate will be a professional with strong commercial awareness, great business development and client rapport building skills, a team player, willing to mentor juniors and someone who is hungry for eventual partnership.

What you’ll need

• A minimum of 13 years’ relevant post-qualification experience and a recognized Commonwealth designation
• Strong advocacy skills and proven experience in conducting litigation to a high standard at various levels of Court
• Experience in commercial matters, in particular significant Insolvency experience
• Excellent drafting, legal research and legal opinion writing
• Confident in leading your own files
• Superb interpersonal skills to deal effectively and courteously with clients, lawyers and colleagues
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills to manage a busy practice and handle several matters at once
• The ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality in all matters
• Excellent computer and technical skills
• Experience with business development activities
